Moraine Lake… Banff’s gift to the world.

One of the most spectacular lake on earth, its unique blue colour is second to none. The colour is because of the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake year round. The view from the rock pile is one of the most photographed places in Canada. And with a view like that it is no surprise.  The valley of the 10 peaks is the mountains you see behind the lake. It is also refered as the twenty dollar view as it was on the back of the canadian 20 dollars in 1969 and 1979 versions.
